Design Process

From Design to Completion and Everything in Between, Kitchens By Design will help you design a dynamic space that meets your project goals.


  1. In Office Consultation

    1. Discuss client’s desires, ideas and needs
    2. Review with client the target budget for the project
    3. Review with client the operational procedures and associated fees
  2. Initial visit to project site / Site Survey

    1. Perform actual measurement/survey of project area
    2. Photograph work areas for reference, note concerns/existing conditions
  3. Presentation of Initial Design

    1. Present a scaled floor plan of project area
    2. Discuss various layout options and agree on initial path forward
    3. Discuss client’s material preferences ie., finishes, countertops, style and theme
    4. Upon consent of client, collect Design Retainer. The Design Retainer is necessary to move forward with initial design and drawings and will be deducted from the final contract cost
  4. Design and Pricing Complete

    1. Provide a real estimate based on presented design. If estimate is not within budget, a redesign may be necessary to reduce costs and scope
    2. Review final plans and elevations
    3. Review material and installation quote
    4. Review contract and payment schedule
  5. Sign Contract

    1. Review and sign contract and collect deposit
